Casey is almost a month old now and we are finally getting into the swing of this whole family of 4 thing.  Recently, Allen and I decided to go on our first date since having Casey.  Let me tell you it was so hard leaving her but we are so thankful for their grandmas who happily stepped in to babysit!

After we had Joey we quickly learned how important it is to continue to connect with each other and have that time away to recharge.  It is so easy to get comfortable with staying in after having a baby, throwing on a pair of sweats and binge watching Netflix (don’t worry we do this all the time too).  But for us we had to get out of the house to really be able to recharge too. A perfect date for us is going out to eat good food (esp New York style pizza), watching the sunset at the beach and just making each other laugh.

I am so glad we decided not to drive and instead used Uber. Many times we don’t feel like going out because we don’t want to have to deal with finding parking in LA. For this date, we were able to chat the whole drive without having to focus on the crazy LA traffic and plan out what we’d do that evening in the car.  Over the last couple years we have used Uber so many times for not only date nights but for life in general. Even when Allen did his residency in Philadelphia, he used Uber to get around everywhere because he didn’t have a car and public transportation wasn’t that accessible.
